The Challenge of a Lifetime In Africa
Mount Kilimanjaro
6th June- 15th June 2008

The magnificent Kilimajaro, one of the largest freestanding mountains in the world and the highest in Africa, is a once in a life-time adventure which almost every trekker and mountaineer wants to conquer.

Reaching the highest peak of ‘Uhuru’, is truly a challenge but will be an experience never to be forgotten.

The trek will take us to Tanzania’s far north-east plains, beginning with dense forest and leading into more rugged and rocky terrain. The ascent continues above cloud level firstly to Gilman’s Point and then Uhuru Peak.

The trek is very challenging due to the high altitude and requires a good level of fitness, not to mention stamina and determination.

The Hospice organisers will provide a trek training guide and arrange some practice walks and climbs in the year leading up to the event. The rest is up to you!

To book a place on this fantastic challenge complete the attached tear off registration form and send to the Hospice enclosing a non-refundable deposit of £200. You will then be issued with a fundraising pack to assist you in raising the minimum sponsorship of £3000.

St Andrew’s Hospice has to raise £39,000 each week to meet running costs. The total money raised by participants on previous international challenges has paid for an incredible 4 months of care.

If you are interested in taking part in the adventure of a lifetime please contact Catherine or Katie at the Hospice.
