Fundraising Department

Appeals keep the Lanarkshire public informed about the Hospice services and finances by delivering talks to various community groups, by communicating news through local newspapers and, twice yearly, by publishing and then issuing a Hospice Newsletter to 225,000 homes and businesses across the County.

The Department houses a small fundraising team who work to attract financial and other resources needed to maintain and, where possible, expand our Hospice Care Services. Equally important, it is also the point of contact for the people of Lanarkshire who constantly seek opportunities to help St. Andrew's to care for acutely ill patients from the Lanarkshire communities.

Our public makes many unsolicited donations. They also organise charity social events, volunteer for can collections in supermarkets and offer their time free of charge to assist in our six charity shops or in the Hospice itself.

Our fundraisers organise many social events, make approaches to charitable trusts and foundations, and negotiate sponsorship deals with local businesses.

Without the many interfaces between the Hospice and the people of Lanarkshire, St. Andrew's would simply not be able to provide the excellent care services required.

Through the combined efforts of Hospice Staff and the Lanarkshire public, St. Andrew's Hospice has managed to remain financially viable throughout the 20 years of its existence.
