Senior II Physiotherapist

(Maternity Leave Cover - 9 months), Full time - 35 hours per week

St Andrew's Hospice is Lanarkshire's only Hospice and provides Specialist Palliative Care for up to 120 patients each week. Care is provided through our in-patient 32 bedded unit, the Day Hospice, Care at Home and Support Services for patients and relatives.

We now require a temporary Senior II Physiotherapist to cover 9 months maternity leave. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years post registration experience and a keen interest in Specialist Palliative Care. Applicants must have Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy and hold current HPC registration.

Working within a highly motivated multi-disciplinary team, the job holder will deliver an excellent standard of care to patients in the Day Hospice, In-Patient Unit and occasional treatment at home, aiming always to improve the quality of life for the patient, whilst also providing support and advice to both patients and carers. This post requires a committed, compassionate, positive individual with excellent clinical and people skills. Continuing Professional Development is actively supported.

Occupational Therapy Assistant

27.5 hours per week

This modern Specialist Palliative Care Unit provides care for up to 120 patients each week through In-patient, Day Hospice and Care at Home Services. We are now looking to increase our Occupational Therapy service and require a highly motivated, enthusiastic, committed individual to join our multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Occupational Therapist to assist in developing the present service with the ultimate aim of improving the quality of life for all Hospice patients. This is a very varied role, which will include working closely with patients, families and carers, liaising with other agencies on their behalf.

This role requires excellent organising and communication skills, with good understanding of patients needs. Applicants should have experience in Occupational Therapy Support including the assessment of needs, safe use of equipment, and developing and running recreational programmes.
Must hold a full driving licence.
