St Andrew’s Hospice is a registered charity providing specialist palliative care for patients with life-limiting conditions which require complex symptom management, and/or end-of-life care. It is Lanarkshire’s specialist hospice and provides multidisciplinary support for patients, their families and carers. The service is provided completely free of charge for the adult population of North and South Lanarkshire and is open to all without distinction of race, gender or creed.
We are looking to recruit permanent Auxiliary Nurses to work on a rotational basis over day and night shift as required. You will assist with the nursing of patients in accordance with the high standards promoted by St Andrew’s Hospice. This will include providing all aspects of personal and patient hygiene, maintaining good relationships with patients, relatives and colleagues and ensuring patients are given appropriate privacy and treated with dignity at all times. You will be supervised by a registered nurse. Keen interest in palliative care is essential and it is preferable that you hold an appropriate SVQ or HNC in care.
