Housebuilder gives £1,000 boost to Hospice
The hospice has been nominated by staff at Persimmon Homes West Scotland to receive a £1,000 donation as part of its Community Champions initiative.
Persimmon is committed to donating £24,000 to local groups and charities in the region over 12 months.
The money will go towards purchasing 30 tablets for patients to use, which will allow them to communicate with their families and loved ones, watch TV, listen to music and read.
Lorna McCafferty, Trust Fundraising Officer at St Andrews Hospice, said: “St Andrew’s Hospice is very grateful to Permission Homes West Scotland for the award of £1,000 from their Community Champions funding. The monies will be used to purchase tablets for our patients use.”
Doug Law, managing director at Persimmon Homes West Scotland, said: “The Community Champions scheme was devised to help local charities and organisations make a real difference in the neighbourhoods where we build. We are pleased to be able to help St Andrew’s Hospice purchase the tablets for their patients in their care to enjoy.”
