St Andrew’s Hospice is a registered charity providing specialist palliative care for patients with life-limiting conditions which require complex symptom management, and/or end-of-life care. It is Lanarkshire’s only specialist hospice and provides multidisciplinary support for patients, their families and carers.

The service is provided completely free of charge for the adult population of North and South Lanarkshire and is open to all without distinction of race, gender or creed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at St Andrew’s Hospice for a School Liaison Officer (Maternity Leave Cover) to join our friendly schools team which is part of the Fundraising Department. As an important member of the hospice team, your duties will include the delivery of health and wellbeing programmes, presentations on the work of the hospice and Eco projects to pupils in Primary & Secondary Schools. You will also be required to work with schools to enhance additional areas of the Curriculum for Excellence. A major part of this role will involve the organisation of the children’s events within the Fundraising Department. This post requires flexibility and will involve occasional early morning starts, evening and weekend work.

The successful applicant must be enthusiastic, driven and keen to motivate and inspire children and young people. Some experience of working with young people in an educational setting is desirable but not essential. You should be an effective communicator, confident in delivering presentations, with excellent organisational skills and be able to travel to schools within Lanarkshire.
