As a member of the Patient & Family Support Team, the post holder will be pro-active in attending to the complex pastoral, spiritual and religious needs of all patients, families and carers, ensuring that all care is patient led and focused on the needs of the individual.
Applicants will hold a degree in theology or in another relevant healthcare discipline and be able to demonstrate advanced communication skills. Proven pastoral experience and a flexible approach to working hours are essential as is a keen interest in Palliative and End of Life Care.
This is a two year training post leading to SAH Band 6 appointment as a Specialist Palliative Care Chaplain on successful completion of a PG Certification in Hospital Chaplaincy.
Applicants are required to register with the UKBHC as a Trainee Chaplain and be prepared to undertake the University of Glasgow Healthcare Chaplaincy PG Certificate over two years part time (funded by St Andrew’s Hospice).
