Ben Nevis Anywhere: 4 September - 3 October 2020

Ben Nevis Anywhere
Friday 4th September – 3rd October 2020

Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the United Kingdom. It is located at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands.

For this challenge, we are asking you to climb any hill(s) or flights of stairs to reach the height of the UK’s highest mountain: 1352 metres or 520 flights of stairs.

Simply add up the height gained on your climb(s) or the number of flights of stairs climbed until you reach the height of Ben Nevis.

For example: If you climb Tinto Hill, your height gained is 486m so you still have another 866m to go to complete the challenge. If you’re climbing flights of stairs, the equivalent of Tinto Hill would be 187 flights of stairs, leaving 333 flights still to go.

We’ve put together a chart, available to download here, to help you track your progress. The chart outlines the height gain you can achieve by climbing particular hills. If you choose to track your progess in flights of stairs climbed, this information is also provided.

Aim to complete the challenge by October 3rd 2020 – the date our annual Ben Nevis Challenge was due to take place.

Registration Fee: £10
We ask that all participants aim to raise £100 in sponsorship.
Funds raised from this event will go towards providing care and support to our patients and their loved ones across Lanarkshire.
