Volunteer Cafe Assistant

Area: Dove Cafe, St Andrew’s Hospice

Reporting To: Food Services Assistant

Role Aim/Purpose:

To continue the welcome of patients and visitors to St Andrew’s Hospice by providing a first class hospitality service.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Preparing food for sale
• Serving hot and cold food/drinks
• Keeping the café clean and tidy
• Tidying up dishes and using the dishwasher
• Wiping down tables
• Restocking confectionery supplies
• Selling baked goods and confectionery
• Using the till and card machine

 Key Skills Required:

• Good communication skills
• Team worker
• Flexible & dependable
• Adaptable

Training provided:

• Elementary Food Hygiene course
• Communication, Loss, Grief & Bereavement Skills
• Spirituality in Healthcare
