Barratt Homes donate £1000 to Hospice

Barratt Homes has donated £1,000 to support St Andrew’s Hospice.

The donation is part of the Community Fund, launched by Barratt Homes in January 2019 which plans to donate £1000 to a local charity, service or organisations every month of the year.

Lorna McCafferty, Trust Fundraising Officer, St Andrew’s Hospice, said: “The Hospice is delighted to be awarded the £1000 from the Community Fund.  We will use the money to fund a virtual tour app of the Hospice building – similar to the Google Street View.  This virtual tour will be put on our Hospice website and shared on our social media sites.

“The virtual tour will enable patients and visitors to look around the building, prior to them coming into the Hospice. This will help patients and visitors familiarise themselves with the facilities at the Hospice prior to them visiting or coming in to stay with us and will help to reduce any fear and anxiety patients and visitors may have about coming into a strange environment.”

Barratt Homes recently launched its Community Fund that aims to give back a monthly donation to charities and organisations in the areas in which it is building.

Estelle Sykes, sales director, Barratt West Developments said: “The Community Fund is allowing us to reach out to invaluable services across the West of Scotland and offer some support.

“The care that St Andrew’s Hospice offers to people in the Lanarkshire area is extremely important for people with life-limiting illnesses but also their friends and family.

“We are thrilled that we are able to help charities like this and look forward to working with them again in the future.”
