Christopher Brookmyre opens new book shop
Critically acclaimed Scottish author Christopher Brookmyre officially opened St Andrew’s Hospice’s new book shop, Bothwell Book Box (29-35 Main Street, Bothwell) on Friday afternoon (19th August).
The Quite Ugly One Morning author cut the ribbon, signed books and treated customers and answered fans’ questions during an in-store Q&A.
The hospice’s Head of Fundraising, John Brady said: “I’m delighted that renowned Scottish author Chris Brookmyre came along to open the Bothwell Book Box and answer questions from customers about his work and the process of writing.
“Sales of printed books are on the increase so if we can increase the amount of books read, whilst raising much needed income for St Andrew’s Hospice, that would be fantastic. Many thanks to Chris Brookmyre and to all the customers who attended the opening.
Donations of vintage books, new books or small antiques for Bothwell Book Box would be greatly received. Please hand any donations into shop.
