Hospice receives keys to new shopping outlet

Hospice receives keys to new shopping outletToday (Wednesday 24th July), St Andrew’s Hospice received the keys to a brand new shopping site in the heart of North Lanarkshire.

The Leader of North Lanarkshire Council, Councillor Jim Logue and Provost of North Lanarkshire, Councillor Kenneth Duffy, were present when the keys were handed over to the premises at 5 Locks Street in Coatbridge (previously Poundstretcher) which will become home to the St Andrew’s Hospice Shopping Outlet.

The St Andrew’s Hospice Shopping Outlet is a bold new venture; merging vintage and new goods, quality second hand furniture, toys, gifts, homewares and so much more.

Speaking about the new project, the Provost said: “As we celebrate this key milestone in the journey towards the new shopping outlet, we’re reminded of the power of community and collaboration. This new facility will provide vital funds for the incredible work of St Andrew’s Hospice, and we’re grateful for the partnership. We now call on local businesses to join us in supporting this amazing charity and help make a difference in the lives of those they care for.”

  • Pick-up and delivery of stock
  • Security and monitoring of CCTV
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy shop floor and back store

Volunteering with St Andrew’s Hospice not only helps raise vital funds, but enables you to learn new skills and meet new people. If you would like to be part of this exciting new venture, please apply online.

You can also pick up an application form from any St Andrew’s Hospice shop. Alternatively, you can contact our HR department for an application form by e-mailing [email protected] or calling 01236 772002.

Joy Farquharson, the Hospice’s Chief Executive said: “I am delighted we have secured this site for a new Shopping Outlet in Lanarkshire. The Shopping Outlet will bring a vibrancy to the local area and provide a shopping experience the whole family can enjoy.

“Our shops, including this new outlet, are a critical source of income; helping to fund specialist care and support within our Inpatient Unit as well as our Outpatient and Bereavement services. I really hope the community and businesses of Lanarkshire will support this new outlet by volunteering, donating or shopping with us.

“Please keep an eye on our social media channels for updates on the progress of the outlet as well opportunities to get involved.”
