Santa’s helpers turn out to support Hospice Santa Dash
The wintery weather didn’t stop nearly 600 people getting their Santa suits and reindeer antlers on to take part in the St Andrew’s Hospice Santa Dash, Reindeer Run & Santa Cycle at Strathclyde Park on Sunday 20th November.
This fun filled event saw adults taking part in Santa suits and children in reindeer antlers and a Rudolph red nose.
All the Santas and reindeer were entertained by the Pamela Logan School of Dance, music provided by DJ David Cluckie and Santa Claus himself took time out of his busy schedule to come and visit all of his friends on the day.
Gail Dolan, Events & Community Co-ordinator at St Andrew’s Hospice said: “A special thank you goes to our sponsors Amey who also took part in the event. We’d also like to thank Virgin Active Gym Hamilton for getting everyone warmed up before the event and to everyone who brought their dogs along and dressed up for the occasion.
St Andrew’s Hospice has to raise £88,000 each week and we hope that every penny that was raised by the Santas and reindeer who took part will help us to continue to provide specialist palliative care for the people of Lanarkshire.
Next year’s Santa Dash, Reindeer Run & Santa Cycle will take place on Sunday 19th November. If you would like to be added to our mailing list for this event, please contact Bobby Mason on 01236 766951 or by email at [email protected]
