St Andrew’s Hospice decant to Wester Moffat ahead of refurb
To enable their Henderson Street home to be refurbished and reconfigured St Andrew’s Hospice will this week temporarily decant their inpatient services to Wester Moffat Hospital, also in Airdrie. The Hospice will be housed within 2 wards which are currently not being utilised by NHS Lanarkshire.
St Andrew’s Hospice will continue to provide the excellent specialist palliative care for the population of Lanarkshire for which we have become known over the last 30 years during the refurbishment period.
Referral to the Hospice will continue to be made by healthcare professionals such as GP, district nurse, hospital consultant or specialist nurse. If you feel that you, or a loved one, would benefit from the specialist palliative care which the hospice provides, this should be discussed with a member of your health care team. They will be able to advise you as to whether this is the right option at this time.
Outpatient Services, including our new Wellbeing Programme, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Complementary Therapy will continue to be available from Henderson Street utilising accommodation in the Hospice’s Education Suite. Counselling and Bereavement Services will also continue to be provided by us and will be hosted at Airdrie Health Centre. Medical Outpatients will continue to be available by arrangement with patients’ Consultant.
Non- clinical departments of the Hospice including Fundraising and Capital Appeal will continue to be based at Henderson Street during the decant period with a temporary entrance via the Education Department at the back of the building. Supporters wishing to hand in donations should do so between the hours of 9-5pm, Monday – Friday.
The Café and Chapel within the Hospice building will be closed for the duration of the refurbishment.
